Tekion
About this role
Tekion's Enterprise Data Platform powers its data lake, and everything downstream of it: analytics, reporting, AI and ML, and customer facing features for car dealerships. This role exists to make that data trustworthy. You define validation strategies across the platform, automate the testing, and work with data engineering, product, analytics and AI teams to hold data products to a quality bar. There is a second, newer half to the job as Tekion expands its AI powered analytics agent: validating user intents and building evaluation frameworks for AI output. Stated bar is five or more years in SDET work for data engineering and data platforms specifically, not general QA. Good fit if you want data quality engineering rather than UI automation.
Who this is for
The posting asks for 5+ years in SDET work for data engineering and data platforms, which is a narrower ask than general test automation and worth reading carefully before applying. The team is Tekion's Enterprise Data Platform group. That platform runs the organisation's data lake and is the foundation for data products, analytics, reporting, AI and ML workloads, and customer facing experiences, so a data correctness failure here surfaces in several directions at once. Core responsibility as published: build confidence in the quality, reliability and correctness of data across the platform. In practice that means defining robust validation strategies, automating the testing behind them, and working closely with data engineering, product management, analytics and AI teams so the definition of correct is agreed rather than assumed. The forward looking half of the role: as Tekion expands its AI powered Analytics Agent, you would help validate user intents, define evaluation frameworks, and make sure AI generated analytics outputs meet a measurable quality standard. That is an emerging discipline and genuinely useful experience to hold. Location is Bangalore HQ. The posting carries the same internal application note as Tekion's other current listings, effective 4 August 2026, which confirms the requisition is live. Fit guidance: this suits a test engineer who has already moved from application testing into data, and who is comfortable reasoning about schemas, pipelines and data drift rather than screens. If your automation background is entirely UI or API level, expect the data platform requirement to be the thing that decides the screen.
