On top of that it asks for an architect level grasp of agentic AI systems covering tool use, retrieval, multi step reasoning, evaluation and guardrails. That combination of classical rigour and current agentic work is unusual to see demanded together. Smartsheet tags its India roles as remote in its own job board metadata while several of its India job titles simultaneously say hybrid in Bangalore. That contradiction has appeared on this employer's postings on multiple days now. This particular requisition does not carry the hybrid wording in its title, but given the pattern we would not treat any remote tag from this employer as reliable. Confirm the office expectation in writing before you progress. Also worth knowing: this employer opens its postings with a line about having operated for over twenty years, which is a statement about the company and not an experience requirement, and it is exactly the kind of sentence that automated tools misread as a years figure. Good fit for a very senior applied scientist who wants breadth across classical and agentic ML.
