About this role
This sits inside Auth0, the developer authentication product Okta owns, on the Data Engineering
team's Pipeline group. That group sits closest to the platform teams and data producers, and it owns
ingestion: getting data in efficiently and giving the rest of the company fast access to unmodelled
data. You own and operate the pipelines, take part in the support rotation, lead troubleshooting when
something upstream breaks, and run the data onboarding lifecycle as new internal and external sources
arrive. The stack is the modern one, Snowflake, dbt, Airflow and Terraform, with SQL and Python as

Who this is for
Requirements. 5+ years of software development experience, with at least 3+ years working on large
scale data systems. Strong SQL for data manipulation and Python for pipeline development. Hands-on
experience building and operating data pipelines in a cloud environment, AWS preferred. Hands-on
experience with the modern data stack, named specifically as Snowflake for warehousing, dbt for
transformation and Terraform for infrastructure as code. Experience with data ingestion, streaming
and event driven architecture such as Kafka, CDC and Snowpipe. Knowledge of data security and data
privacy best practices. A strong understanding of data modelling principles.
Extra credit. Experience with Snowpark.
Day to day. Own and operate the critical data pipelines and infrastructure, and take part in the
team's support rotation for availability and business continuity. Lead troubleshooting on complex
pipeline or infrastructure issues, including going beyond the team's direct scope to get to a
resolution. Manage the data onboarding lifecycle, working with stakeholders to integrate new internal
and external sources. Develop and deploy data solutions with Snowflake, dbt, Airflow and Terraform.
Advocate for modern tooling and better practice. You report to the manager of the Data Engineering
Pipeline team.
