Software Engineer L3

This is the senior individual contributor rung on Twilio's platform engineering ladder in India, and it is remote. You would own technical strategy for a platform handling millions of requests, make architectural decisions balancing feature velocity against reliability and security, and write the design documents and RFCs that carry those decisions. The unusual part is how explicitly the posting builds AI assisted development into the role itself: it asks you to lead by example using coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot or Claude to automate boilerplate, generate test suites and prototype quickly, and says you will be measured on amplifying your own and the team's output that way. The day to day: own technical strategy for a platform processing millions of requests. Drive the design and implementation of key features. Make architectural decisions that balance rapid feature innovation against reliability and security. Articulate designs and system trade offs through design documents, RFCs and discussion. Use LLMs and agentic tooling to accelerate code generation, automate architectural review and synthesise context.
