About this role
Twilio runs the APIs that let companies send SMS, voice, email and WhatsApp from their own software, and this role is on the internal Identity and Network Trust team rather than the customer facing product. You would build and operate Twilio's global corporate network: the campus and data centre infrastructure, VPN, zero trust network access, and the connectivity into its cloud systems. A good part of the job is monitoring performance and doing root cause analysis on escalated connectivity problems, so it rewards someone who enjoys the diagnosis rather than only the build. The environment is Cisco LAN, WAN and WiFi with Palo Alto firewalls on top of AWS networking. It is remote within five Indian states, with roughly 15 percent travel.

- Advanced knowledge of IEEE 802 standards and core IETF protocols, including the 802.11 suite, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing and switching protocols.
- Hands on network monitoring knowledge.

- Experience troubleshooting network problems across different OSI layers.

The day to day: building and supporting the global IT network, tracking network assets, reporting performance and availability metrics to IT leadership, working with stakeholder teams on future network needs, prioritising work using the Scaled Agile Framework, building tools to test and roll out new LAN and WAN systems, responding to incidents, and maintaining network design and standards documentation.
