About this role
This is the lead seat on Mactores' database migration work, one level up from hands on delivery. Enterprise customers are moving off Oracle and SQL Server, with license renewals coming due and stored procedure layers nobody fully understands, onto PostgreSQL and Aurora PostgreSQL, and you own those heterogeneous migrations end to end. You run the AWS DMS and SCT toolchain, then do the part the tools cannot: rebuilding procedural business logic in PL/pgSQL when the Schema Conversion Tool flags a gap it cannot close. You author the runbooks the cutover lives or dies by, run the cutover, and validate the result. It carries technical leadership of migration teams and responsibility for governance and best practice. Based in Mumbai. Good fit for a database architect with a decade of migration delivery who wants to own quality and outcomes across whole programmes, not single databases.

- 8 to 12 years of professional experience in database architecture and migration delivery.
- Hands on expertise with AWS DMS and AWS SCT for enterprise scale migrations.
- Deep proficiency across Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL and Aurora PostgreSQL, and a track record of heterogeneous migrations across on premises and cloud.
- Skill authoring and executing migration runbooks, validation plans, cutover procedures and rollback strategies.
The day to day: you lead migrations end to end (assessment, planning, schema conversion, execution, post migration validation), design and manage the DMS and SCT environments, convert Oracle PL/SQL and SQL Server T-SQL to PostgreSQL PL/pgSQL, author the cutover runbooks, drive migration testing and production readiness reviews, and provide technical leadership and governance to migration teams.
Location: Mumbai. This is customer facing, enterprise migration delivery.
Honest read: a senior, lead level database migration role. It carries technical leadership of teams but the core is deep hands on migration engineering, not people management. Best for a database migration specialist who wants ownership of whole enterprise programmes.
