About this role
Observe.AI builds an AI agents platform for customer experience, used by brands including DoorDash, Affordable Care, Signify Health and Verida to deploy AI agents across the customer service lifecycle. This role reports to the VP of Information Security and the posting is upfront about the opportunity in it: you would design and implement cloud and infrastructure security from scratch. That means creating secure access, networks, defence in depth and IAM, and addressing vulnerabilities and misconfigurations across operating systems, infrastructure and cloud. You would develop the security policies, reference architectures, design patterns and strategic roadmap for infrastructure security, then work with engineering and AWS architecture teams to make sure proposed designs meet both business objectives and security requirements. You also provide technical leadership to security operations and incident response, and mentor junior infrastructure security staff. The requirement spans three areas: software engineering, network security and AWS security.

Leadership and strategy:
- Develop and document comprehensive security policies, reference architectures, design patterns and the strategic roadmap for infrastructure security.

- Collaborate with engineering, AWS and architecture teams so proposed designs meet both business objectives and stringent security requirements.
- Partner with stakeholders across the organisation to stay current on infrastructure designs.
Technical design and architecture:
- Provide technical leadership to build security into all infrastructure and network designs across AWS cloud, SaaS applications and IT environments.
- Design and re architect the AWS infrastructure to implement robust security measures, including network segmentation and secure access.
- Build defence in depth, secure access and IAM from the ground up.
- Address vulnerabilities and misconfigurations across operating systems, infrastructure and cloud.
Operations and mentoring:
- Work closely with security operations and incident response teams, providing technical leadership.
- Mentor other junior infrastructure security professionals.
