Backend Engineer, Chanakya

Sarvam is building sovereign AI for India: research, models, infrastructure and applications aimed at making AI work properly across Indian languages. This role is on the Chanakya team, and the backend work is unusual because the systems run in on-premise, air-gapped and operationally constrained environments rather than on a normal cloud. You would build MCP servers, document ingestion pipelines, agentic backends and the API layers that connect them.
