Semester Exam Course Pattern & Credit System

Distribution of Marks between theory and internal asse ssment is 60:40 respectively
For each course there is passing minimum: Internal assessment 40% (16 Marks) External Semester End Exam 40% (24 Marks) and overall 40%. 3) CREDIT SYSTEM AND EVALUTION
The Credit Based Semester System is as per University Rules.

Credit System:
Each Course of the semester based (M.A . Sindhi) programme will earn the student 6
credits, with the final degree being awarded to the student after 96 credits have been
earned over 4 semesters. The details of th e credit system, formulated as per the
University guidelines, are as follows:
a) With each Course being worth 6 credits, the student will earn 24
credits each semester, 48 credits in a year.
b) Each credit will translate into 15 hours, making it 90 hours per Course.
Of these, 45 hours will be covered by lectures and the Balance half will be counted towards prepar ation, homework, Library work,
assignments and student seminars.
c) Each semester will comprise a bout 15 weeks. Of these, two Weeks
will be taken up in final and mid-semester exams. In order to cover 45 hours over 13 weeks, there will be 4 lectures Per week of a particular
Course.
d) Evaluation : The Grade Point
At the end of the first semester and the subsequent semester Examinations the students will be awarded with a grade card
consisting of grades and credits of the previous semesters. The marks
will not appear on the grade card but the conversion of the marks into
grade points and letter grade will be displayed.
e) The grade card issued to each student will contain: a) the credits earned for each course in that semester.
b) the performance in each c ourse indicated by the letter grade.
c) the Grade Point Average of all the courses in that semester.
d) the cumulative Grade Point Average of all courses after
completing all levels.
