O. 6468 - Course Title : Certificate Course in Urdu Calligraphy
O. 6469 - Eligibility:
For being eligible for admission to the Certificate Course in Urdu Calligraphy a
candidate must have passed SSC examination in any discipline from any board . The
Candidates who have any other degree equivalent to SSC standard will als o be eligible to
take admission in this Course.
Regulations:
R. 9211 - Fee Structure:
The fee structure of the course is as follows:
1. Tuition Fees ------------ Rs. 2000/-
2. Registration Fees ---- Rs. 100/ -
3. Examination Fee as per University norms
The Fee Structure may be change time to time as per university norms.
R. 9212 - Duration:
Duration of the course will be one year and the examination will be held at
the end of the academic year.
2 Lectures of one hr. each will be held twice a week. (4 Lectures per week of one hour
duration)
(The candidate will not be admitted to the examination if he/she fails to keep 75% Attendance)
R. 9213 - Intake Capacity:
The Intake capacity of the students is 15.
Standard of passing :
In order to pass the examination for the Certificate Course in Urdu Calligraphy a
candidate must obtain 50 percent marks in written and practical examinations.
The candidate has to appear in examination in the same year of admission. If due to
any reason He/She could not sit in examinati on in the same year, He/She has to take
re-admission to sit in examination again.

The following shall be the Syllabus for the Certificate Course in Urdu Calligraphy :
The Syllabus will be consist o f two portions i.e. Basic Course in Calligraphy & Advanced
Modern Calligraphy. The features of the Syllabus are as follows:
Basic Course in Calligraphy
1- Introducing Calligraphy
2- Enhance correct alphabet writing
3- Ligatures (connecting two alphabets)
4- KhushKhati ( Good handwriting)
Advanced Modern Calligraphy
1- Computography
2- Designing
3- Typography
4- Layout designing
5- English and Devnagri Calligraphy

I am submitting herewith the proposa l of Certificate Course in Urdu Calligraphy for the
approval from University Authorities to introduce this proposed Course in coming academic
session i.e. 2019 -2020.
Sir, you are well aware that Calligraphy is the artistic practice of handwriting and it i s an
expressive medium where the letters come alive, vibrant and pulsating. In present era
Calligraphy has become an integral part of various other fields such as graphic designing,
manuscript design, typeface design , illustrations, fine arts, sign making etc. Calligraphy has
steadily been making inroads into various other fields. It has become an important part of design,
graphics, typography, fashion designing and interior decoration. In this age of modern
technology this course will be helpful to adopt the new kind of approach and method for opening
of new avenues for job opportunity in job market. If this Course is being introduced in the
University through the Department of Urdu, it will not only revive the old tradition of our rich
culture but will op en a new window for job seekers.
Therefore, it is requested kindly accept this proposal and grant a permission to start this
course from coming academic session i.e. 2019 -2020.
