ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN GERMAN (Level B1)

Syllabus:
At the Advanced Diploma the student will c omplete CEFR Level B1.
Level B1: The student
Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in
work, school, leisure, etc. Can deal with most situations l ikely to arise whilst travelling in an area where
the language is spoken. Can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal
interest. Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes & ambitions and briefly give reasons and
explanations for opinions and plans.
There will be four papers of 100 marks each.
Paper I: Advanced Structural Studies of German I
Paper II: Advanced Structural Studies of German II (Writing Skills)
Paper III: Advanced Structural Studies of German III (Reading & Listening Comprehension)
Paper IV: Advanced Structural Study of German IV and Literary texts

External Candidates with equivalent prerequisite competence shall be permitted to appear for the
Advance Diploma in German by paying a fees of Rs. 4000/ -.
The University Department of Germa n may hold this exam or a part of it in collaboration with an
internationally recognized body and due fees may be collected by the department as per the
understanding with the international organization so that the students may avail of an
internationally recognized certification in addition to the Diploma Certificate for benefit of the
students.
The marksheet/gradesheet must mention the Level B 1 and 8 Credits.
