PREAMBLE

Pali is one of the ancient languages of India. University of Mumbai has recently [June 2007] started the
Department of Pali, to promote and propagate the Pali language.
Looking at the growing response and demand for the Pali learning , Department of Pali proposes to start a Two
Years Post Graduate Advance Diploma in Pali.
This course is specially designed for the graduate students who are unable to dedicate time for full time M. A.,
but want to learn intensive Pali. Students who have completed their MA in Pali, and still want to continue
learning Pali but are unable to do so because of the limited seats in M. Phil course or less percentages of marks
in MA.
With the increasing number of students completing the MA in Pali every year, there is a great n eed for the
course which would encourage the students to continue Pali studies and at the same time give them the in -
depth knowledge of the language.

1) Graduate of any faculty
2) Admission through Entrance Examination by the Department of Pali

Duration of the Course: -
Two Years – Part time basis
Lectures (4 lectures of 60 minutes each per week)
