ADVANCED DIPLOMA II IN JAPANESE (Level JLPT N2)

The main aim of this course is to bring the speaking and reading and writing skills of the
students to near -native level.
To ensure that the students can recognize, understand and writs over 1000 kanji, and learn
idioms an expressions, and the onomatopoeic expressions which are used i n normal
conversations by Japanese people.
The students would also be introduced to various cultural aspects of Japan to enable them to
understand how native Japanese would react in certain situations. They would also be taught
Japanese business etiquette .
Equivalent to JLPT N 2
Level N 2: The student can read materials written clearly on a variety of topics, such as
articles and commentaries in newspapers and magazines as well as simple critiques and
comprehend their contents. Can also read written materials on general topics and follow their
narratives as well as understand the intent of the writers. Can comprehend orally presented
materials such as coherent conversations and news reports, spoken at nearly natural speed in
everyday situations as wel l as in a variety of settings, and is able to follow their ideas and
comprehend their contents. Can understand the relationships among the people involved and
the essential points of the presented materials.

Exam: Pattern of the exam paper:
The exam paper will test for comprehension, writing competency through essay questions,
translations, and knowledge of the scripts.

Written Exam: 100 marks
Oral Exam: 50 marks (30 continuous evaluation + 20 oral exam)



External Candidates with equivalent prerequisite competence shall be permitted to appear for
the Certific ate in German by paying a fees of Rs. 4000/-

This course shall be offered as online/ offline / blended format from the academic year
2021 -22.
