New ordinances 6707 & 6708 relating to the Online
Certificate Course in Knowledge Updates in Human Development.
(i) Necessity of starting this course
Our intention is to expand our contributions beyond the students who are admitted into the programmes
in the college. We would like to extend our contributions to those who are not traditional students . These
could fall in any one or more of the following: they may be older than traditional students, they may be
our alumnae, they may be working professionals, they may be largely home -based individuals, they may
or may not be from the same field. What we envision will unite such a group of potential particip ants is
their keenness in updating their knowledge in Human Development and Allied Areas.
This course is a value addition, enhancing employability of those seeking employment in GOs and
NGOs that provide holistic services to children, youth, adults, famil ies and communities. It is also a
value addition for school and college teachers.
(ii) Whether UGC has recommended to start the said courses?
Yes, UGC has recommended the incorporation of skill -oriented and value -added, add -on courses.
(iii) Whether all the courses have commenced from the academic year 2019 -20?
The course will commence in 2022 -2023 after obtaining affiliation.
(iv) The courses started by the University are self -financed, whether adequate number of eligible
permanent Faculties are a vailable?
Yes, there is an adequate number of eligible permanent Faculty members to coordinate the course and
see to its smooth and effective delivery.
(v) To give details regarding duration of the Course and is it possible to compress the course?
A 60 -hour course with four modules/units, 15 hours per module/unit, 1 hour per session; 60 sessions
spread over 30 weeks; twice a week.
We have already compressed the course.
(vi) The intake capacity of each course and no. of admissions given in the current acad emic year
(2019 -20).
Minimum number of participants is 20; maximum 95 (online platform).
Admissions not given in the academic year (2019 -20) as we are awaiting university affiliation. The
course will commence in 2022 -2023 after obtaining affiliation.
(vii) Opportunities of Employability/Employment available after taking these courses.
The course will enhance employability, and contribute to Continuing Professional Development. It is a
value addition for those working in or seeking to work in GOs and NGOs providing holistic services to
children, youth, adults, families and communities. It is also a value addition for school and college
teachers.

Minimum number of participants we would like to have is 20; maximum will depend on the
online portal we use and is likely to be 100.
