3 Preamble / Scope: -
Department of Pali for the fourth semester of MA Pali, is offering One
Course Baskets of Two Courses as the Interdisciplinary Courses of six
credi ts each. Student of the Department of Pali or any other Department
has to choose one of the courses from the basket as his/ her
Interdisciplinary course of 6 credits.
The interdisciplinary course basket is such designed that if the student of
the departmen t of Pali chooses to do the course he/she will be enhancing
his Pali studies further and if the student from other department chooses
the subject without the basic knowledge of Pali, he/she still be benefitted
by its interdisciplinary values.
The subjects chosen for the interdisciplinary courses are the unique
features only of the Pali languages and are exclusively seen originally in
Pali literature.
Skill Based Course is such designed that the student studying the 2500
year ancient language of the country should be taking full advantage of its
ancientness and makes oneself the master in the subject. The course will
not only give the edge to the student with the subject but make him/her
stand out.
Project Based Course is another unique feature of the fourth semester. Topics from the Canonical and Non- canonical Pali literature will be kept
open for the topics of Dissertation and the whole vista of research will be
opened up for the student. Each Dissertation Course will carry 10 credits
and has to write a Diss ertation of 5000- 8000 words with the help of Pali
literature and applied Buddha’s teaching.

CHOICE -BASED C REDIT SYSTEM SYLLABUS FOR SEM -IV (PALI)
TO BE IMPLEMENTED FROM 201 7-18
Preamble: Department of Pali for the fourth semester of MA Pali, is offering
